In reply to SomeMadPoet’s post on January 16, I read the problem description and it sounds a bit different than what I am experiencing. That is the only program I could think of that would conflict with the drive but I have never had a problem with it in the past.

Insert disk, drive spins up and sometimes shows volume info but disk is inaccessable. Can you try using a power adapter? When I try to access the disk it stalls out. Second is an asus H with 2 gb memory and gb hard drive. How satisfied are you with this response?
Rosewill said that it is a Windows driver problem. It is possible the drive is underpowered through the USB ports.
It will just sit there and list the contents of the first CD that inserted, and never refresh itself until it is disconnected from the computer and reconnected.
If I eject a disk and put in another one nothing happens. I’m having the same problem.

Thanks for marking this as the answer. I wasn’t sure if I should start a new thread or not. Or the drive might sit and just once, and I’ve even had it make the system become unresponsive.
One is a desktop tower with plenty of power and both of the dvd power usb connectors are plugged in. Windows 7 says the driver’s fine.
